On 9/17/24, while at a residence on N. Luther Ave Officers observed several animals outside with no clean water, food, or proper shelter. Our criminal investigations division was notified, and the incident was investigated further. On 9/20/24, Veronica Dufrense (71), was arrested and charged with Animal Cruelty, a third degree felony. A total of 12 dogs, and 9 cats were rescued from the residence.
Marshal Jones would like to remind our community that if you commit a crime, you will be held accountable. The arrestee(s) is/are considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt through our court system.
