Nocatee House Fire Claims Two DeSoto County Residents

Tragically, a house fire in Nocatee claimed the lives of two DeSoto County residents early Friday. The victims, a teenager and a parent, were inside the home on Hereford Street. DeSoto County Fire Chief Chad Jorgensen shared that the fire was intense, with flames through the roof upon arrival. Despite efforts by emergency crews, they were unable to save the victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene. The fire, which started around 2 a.m., is currently under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal. Jorgensen expressed the difficulty of such situations, especially when children are involved, and mentioned the emotional impact on emergency responders.
