DeSoto County FL Emergency Management
Tropical Depression 10 is now expected to become Tropical Storm Idalia later today and intensify to a Category 1 hurricane early Tuesday. The current predicated landfall is in the Florida Big Bend area. DeSoto County is not in the direct forecast cone, but the effects can still be felt outside of that forecast cone.
There is a 17% chance for DeSoto County to experience tropical storm force winds. The countywide predicted rainfall is up to 4”.
Horse Creek has a small chance of reaching minor flood stage on Thursday.
