The fishing pier which has been used in the past to shoot the fireworks is condemned due to damage from Hurricane Ian and has not been repaired requiring the show to be shot from 2 barges anchored in front of Laishley Park.

Punta Gorda, FL The spirit of Independence Day is alive and vibrant at this year’s Freedom Fest 2024 in Punta Gorda. Held at Laishley Park, this annual festival is set to deliver nonstop entertainment for families throughout the day.
The highlight of this year’s event is Water-Mania, featuring a dazzling array of 12 giant waterslides catering to all ages and preferences. Located within Laishley Park, attendees can expect thrilling slides and plenty of splashes to beat the summer heat. No Independence Day celebration would be complete without fireworks, and organizers have promised a spectacular display set to light up the skies over the Peace River. Scheduled to commence at 9:00pm, this year’s fireworks will be launched from twin barges stationed in front of Laishley Park, promising a breathtaking show for all attendees.
Adding to the festivities are live performances by two national recording acts. The Countywide Band from Kentucky will kick off the entertainment with their high-energy show, followed by Nashville Recording Artist Jason Brownie & the Highway 17 Band, who will deliver a special performance of hard-driving country music after the fireworks.
Gates open at noon on Saturday, June 29th, with admission set at $5 per person. Proceeds from ticket sales will help fund the fireworks display, which is fully supported by donations and sponsorships.
