DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office K9 Kita Sniffs Out Another Criminal

Thursday,  DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office law enforcement deputies spotted and stopped a vehicle driving down Highway 17 at 104 mph! Sergeant Proudfit caught up with the driver, Tyree Campbell and conducted a traffic stop.
Detective Friend and K9 Kita arrived at the scene to conduct a sniff and located drugs including some individually packaged.
The detectives determined the total amount of drugs found in the vehicle included 9.34 grams cocaine, 25.92 grams of marijuana and 1.58 grams Xanax pills.
Tyree has a previous criminal history with charges ranging from robbery to attempted murder. After serving 10 years in prison at the Department of Corrections, and being released in 2019, Tyree is back behind bars now in the DeSoto County Jail.
