ATTENTION: ONLY 3 per Year – Starting Jan 1, 2024
DeSoto County Social Services will provide eligible applicants with up to three benefits per calendar year:
(1) Home Energy benefit per twelve months,
(1) Summer Crisis benefit, and
(1) Winter Crisis benefit.
The Crisis benefits are October 1 through March 31 and April 1 through September 30.
For example, starting January 1, 2024, if you have already received LIHEAP assistance in October through March you will not be eligible for assistance again until April through September. It must be at least 6 months from your previous crisis assistance.
