Adventure Into Safety at the Library: A Week of Fun and Learning
Arcadia, FL – The DeSoto County Library is gearing up for an exciting and educational event titled “Adventure Into Safety A!” happening from June 11th to June 15th. Packed with activities suitable for all ages, this event promises to be both entertaining and informative.
Kicking off the event on Tuesday, June 11th at 1:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s department will lead an engaging crafting session aimed at promoting safety awareness. Participants will have the opportunity to create while learning valuable safety tips from the experts. The event will take place at the DeSoto County Library located at 125 N. Hillsborough Ave.
Continuing the adventure on Wednesday, June 12th at 1:00 p.m., Susan from DeSoto County Animal Services will host a session on making pets’ adventures safe and fun. Attendees will get hands-on experience crafting throw toys from old t-shirts. Additionally, therapy dog Archer will be present to spread joy and companionship.
For the adult audience, Thursday, June 13th offers a unique opportunity at 10 a.m. with a Beginning Crochet Class led by Ms. Connie. Whether you’re a novice or looking to brush up on your skills, this class promises to be the start of a new crafting adventure. Meanwhile, at 1:00 p.m., children can participate in a safety session conducted by the American Red Cross, where they’ll learn essential emergency and disaster response techniques.
Wrapping up the week on Saturday, June 15th, families are invited to a Children’s Movie Day starting at 11 a.m. The library will screen the heartwarming film “Onward,” offering a perfect blend of adventure and fantasy. Refreshments and snacks will be provided, ensuring a delightful movie experience for all attendees.
